Below, we’ve narrowed down the best of the best, making it easier for you to choose where to pull up and call home for a few nights in line with your personal travel style.

Are you ready? Let’s see what’s out there!

North Campground

North Campground

Starting right inside Bryce Canyon National Park itself, North Campground is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to stay as close to the action as possible. There are 50 RV sites in total here, which can be pre-booked, and some of these can accommodate RVs up to 50 feet, so it’s a great option for both small and large rigs.

In terms of amenities, things are quite basic, and you’ll have access to restrooms, firepits, and picnic tables. There is also a dump station and drinking water facilities, but no hookups, so make sure you prepare for this before making your reservation. Don’t let this put you off staying here, though. It’s all part of the charm, and if you really want to reconnect with nature, it’s the go-to place.

Another great thing about staying at North Campground is that it is located near the visitor center, making it easy to grab maps and join ranger-led programs. You’re also just a 3-minute walk from the Rim Trail and around 10 minutes from Sunrise Point, both of which are fantastic hiking options and offer some of the best views of the sun rising over the hoodoos in the morning. And when night falls, the remote location and lack of light pollution at North Campground means you’ll be treated to some of the best stargazing opportunities in the United States.

Sunset Campground

Sunset Campground

Sunset Campground, which is also located inside Bryce Canyon National Park, is another fantastic option for campers who want a front-row seat to nature. It has the same number of sites as North Campground, but is known for being slightly quieter, so it’s perfect if you want to return to a peaceful atmosphere after a day of exploring the National Park.

There aren’t any hookups here, but there are restrooms and drinking water available, as well as fire pits and picnic tables. Spots can be reserved ahead of time, too, but it’s a very good idea to check ahead if you have a larger rig, as some of the sites can accommodate RVs up to 50 feet, but most are suitable for smaller campervans.

A 15-minute walk from Sunset Campground will take you to Sunset Point, which doesn’t only offer you the opportunity to catch some incredible sunsets but is a must-visit for any photography enthusiast. From Sunset Point, you’ll also be close to loads of awesome hiking trails, including the Navajo Loop and Peekaboo Loop Trails, both of which give you a different perspective of Bryce Canyon’s rock formations.

Ruby’s Inn RV Park and Campground

Ruby’s Inn RV Park and Campground

If you’re looking for a campground with a little more in terms of amenities, Ruby’s Inn RV Park and Campground is the place to go. Just a short drive from Bryce Canyon National Park, this is a full-service RV park that has full hookups, including water, sewer, and electricity, along with free WiFi, so it’s ideal for both families and people who need to stay connected while on vacation. Just keep in mind that it is only open from April 1st to October 30th each year.

The amenities don’t stop there, either. There’s also a laundry facility, a general store, and a swimming pool, giving you everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The sites here are also spacious, so you won’t feel packed in with your fellow campers and will have plenty of room to unwind after a long day of exploring. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a shuttle bus that takes you straight from the campground to the National Park, so getting to the action is super easy.

Obviously, you’ll want to explore some of the hiking trails on offer while you’re here, such as Queens Garden and Navajo Loop. But another great thing about camping here is that you’re less than five minutes from Bryce Canyon City, where you’ll find plenty of dining options, gift shops, and even a rodeo during the summer!

Bryce Canyon Pines Campground

Bryce Canyon Pines Campground

Around 6 miles from the National Park, Bryce Canyon Pines Campground is a good choice if you want a laid-back camping experience paired with a quieter setting and fewer crowds. The sites here are also surrounded by tall pine trees, which don’t only add to the relaxing ambiance but provide shade during the summer months.

This campground has some fantastic amenities, including full RV hookups, including water, sewer, and electricity. There are also free restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, WiFi, cable TV, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and an on-site restaurant and bar, which is ideal if you want a break from your camping stove for a couple of nights.

Now, you might be wondering how the crowds here can be so few with such excellent facilities on offer. This is basically because there aren’t that many sites. In fact, there are only 30 in total, with a mix of pull-through, pull-forward, and back-in options. What this does mean, however, is that booking in advance is essential – don’t be tempted to try your luck on the day as this is a very popular campground!

Being so close to Bryce Canyon National Park, it won’t come as much of a surprise that you’ll be able to head out on some of the park’s best hiking trails. But if you’re looking for other activities, Dixie National Forest is a 2-hour drive away and offers you even more opportunities for hiking, fishing, and wildlife spotting.

Bryce Pioneer Village RV Park

Bryce Pioneer Village RV Park

Located in the small town of Tropic, Bryce Pioneer Village RV Park is 10 miles from Bryce Canyon National Park and, along with RV camping, offers the opportunity to switch things up a bit with tent sites and cabins. This is ideal if you’re traveling with a group of friends or family and feel like getting a little more privacy for a night or two during your road trip. Just keep in mind that RV camping is only available from April 1st through October 31st.

In terms of amenities, you’ll have access to full hookups, restrooms, a laundromat, a restaurant, and a fitness center. So you’ll have everything you need to fuel up or unwind after a day of exploring, and there’s also an outdoor pool, which is perfect for cooling off in the summer months. Talking of the summer months, Bryce Pioneer Village RV Park also hosts live music and other events at this time of year, adding to the whole atmosphere and guaranteeing you a memorable stay.

A short drive will take you to Bryce Canyon National Park, where you can explore all of the hiking trails and hoodoos. But, since you’re in Tropic, it would only make sense to explore this part of the world, too, and you’ll find some great restaurants and local shops stocked with treasures just waiting to be discovered! Kodachrome Basin State Park is just an 18-minute drive away as well, so you really are perfectly placed for all kinds of outdoor adventures here.

Bryce Valley Ranch RV and Horse Park

Bryce Valley Ranch RV and Horse Park

Vacations are the chance to make some amazing memories, and at Bryce Valley Ranch RV and Horse Park, that’s exactly what you’ll get. Located about 20 minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park, you’re not only offered a wonderful place to camp with some great amenities but also the chance to explore the Wild West on horseback!

Let’s check out the amenities first. Here, you’ll find full hookups for your RV, including water, sewer, and electricity, as well as restrooms with hot showers, a playground, laundry facilities, and a grill area that all guests are welcome to use. There’s a dog park, too, and as you might expect from the name of this campground, horse corrals, which are perfect for anyone traveling with their equine companions.

From this campground, you can join a guided horseback riding experience through the surrounding desert landscape, and you don’t need to be a horse owner to enjoy this – there’s a stable of friendly horses on-site that can be ridden for the tour. When you’re ready to put your feet back on the ground, both Bryce Canyon National Park and Kodachrome Basin State Park are within driving distance and offer plenty of opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, and bird watching.

Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney

Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney

Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney is one of the newer RV parks in the area, and with this comes modern amenities and a location that is just 20 minutes away from Bryce Canyon National Park. The whole idea here is that you have all the comforts of home while still being close to the National Park, making it a great choice for family vacations or for campers who simply appreciate a little luxury.

You’ll find full hookups here, along with spacious pull-through sites, restrooms, and showers. There’s also a swimming pool, a playground, and a clubhouse, giving you plenty of areas to meet fellow explorers and share stories. It’s a pet-friendly campground, too, and if you’re traveling with your furry friends, you’ll have designated areas where they can exercise and sniff for as long as they like.

Staying at Bryce Canyon RV Resort puts you in a prime position to explore not only Bryce Canyon National Park but also some of the surrounding attractions. Red Canyon, for example, is only 30 minutes away and is the place to go for some spectacular views and less crowded hiking trails. Also, if you’re a fan of off-road adventures, there are nearby rental companies where you can hire an ATV and explore trails that take you deep into the heart of Utah’s red rock country.

Red Canyon Campground

Red Canyon Campground

If you’re looking for more of a rustic, back-to-basics camping experience, Red Canyon Campground is definitely one to consider. This campground is located in Dixie National Forest, which is just 15 minutes away from Bryce Canyon National Park, and it has a peaceful atmosphere with pine trees and red rock formations surrounding the entire site.

This is a smaller, much more intimate campground than the others on our list, but that’s actually part of the appeal. The sites are well-spaced, which gives you a good sense of privacy, and while there aren’t any hookups, there are vault toilets and picnic tables for guests to use. It’s pretty budget-friendly, too, but it is important to note that RVs longer than 22 feet are not allowed in this campground.

Now, while there’s no denying that things are quite basic here, you are perfectly positioned to explore some of the most amazing hiking trails right from your doorstep. The Arches Trail is just 10 minutes away, and it takes you through some beautiful red rock formations, arches, and windows. Likewise, the Pink Ledges Trail (which is only 10 minutes away on foot) is another must-do, and as it’s relatively flat, it’s a good choice if you’re not keen on doing anything too strenuous.

Kodachrome Basin Campground

Kodachrome Basin Campground

While a bit further out than the other campgrounds we’ve explored (about 40 minutes), Kodachrome Basin Campground is well-placed for campers who want to explore both Bryce Canyon National Park and Kodachrome Basin State Park.

This is a quiet campground, with only 15 full hookup sites on offer, which you’ll need to book in advance if you want to use. There are 13 standard-partial hookup sites available, though, so if you’re comfortable with these amenities, you’ll be doubling your chances of getting a space! Whichever site you choose, you’ll still have access to flush toilets, showers, picnic tables, fire rings, and laundry facilities, so you’ll have everything needed to camp comfortably. There’s also a visitor center where you can learn more about the park’s history and geological features.

Bryce Canyon National Park is one of your options for exploring from here, with its awesome hiking trails and beautiful rock formations. But, since you’re literally inside Kodachrome Basin State Park, it only makes sense to explore trails like Angel’s Palace and the Panorama Trail while you’re here, both of which will give you the opportunity to take in some breathtaking views and snap a few Instagram-worthy photos of your road trip.

Top RV Camping Tips for Bryce Canyon National Park

RV Camping Tips for Bryce Canyon National Park

Camping in or near Bryce Canyon National Park is a truly incredible experience, but it is important to plan ahead to make sure your road trip goes off without a hitch. Here are some top tips for anyone taking a road trip to this part of the world:

Book Early

Bryce Canyon is one of the most popular National Parks in the United States, and campgrounds (both inside the park and nearby) fill up fast, especially during the peak summer season. So, make sure you book ahead! If you’re planning to stay at North Campground or Sunset Campground, some sites are first-come-first-serve, but others are reservable. For private parks like Ruby’s Inn or Bryce Canyon Pines, you’ll need to make a reservation.

Know Your RV’s Limitations

Not all campgrounds are equipped for every size and type of RV. For example, some sites, like Red Canyon Campground, can only accommodate smaller vehicles. So, before booking, check the campground’s website or call ahead to ensure your RV will fit comfortably. At Travellers Autobarn, we have a huge selection of campervans varying in size, and we can help you find a model that suits your needs and is appropriate for your preferred campgrounds.

Watch the Weather

The weather in Bryce Canyon National Park can be unpredictable, with sudden thunderstorms and even snow possible at higher elevations. Be sure to check weather conditions before heading out on a hike or other outdoor activity, and plan accordingly. Likewise, make sure you pack protective clothing like waterproof jackets and warm clothing to change into in case you get caught in an unexpected downpour.

Stock Up Before You Arrive

While there are some small grocery stores near Bryce Canyon and even some on-site general stores at certain RV parks, it’s always a good idea to stock up on your essentials before heading out on the road. We’re talking water, propane, and food supplies, and if you’re running really low, head to nearby towns like Panguitch, where there are supermarkets with more of a selection.
