First things first: each of the campgrounds listed above is suitable for RV camping, but this naturally means you’ll need to be in an RV or campervan to stay at them. Lakeshore RV Park

Located just 250 meters from Lake Chelan, Lakeshore RV Park is one of the most convenient and well-equipped RV campgrounds in the area. There are 163 full hookup sites on offer here, which can be reserved in advance, and most can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, which is ideal if you’re traveling in a larger rig. Each site also has a picnic table, and you’ll have access to a dump station, restrooms with coin-operated showers, and WiFi, giving you everything you need for a comfortable stay.

However, before you book, there are a couple of things you should know. First of all, the restrooms and showers are closed between November and March, so if you’re reliant on these facilities it would be best to look for an alternative RV park. Second, if you’re traveling with a group and need to book more than 5 sites here, you can only reserve by telephone, as online bookings for larger groups are not accepted.

Assuming you’re happy with all of the above, you’re in an excellent position for exploring the area. Not only are you steps away from Lake Chelan, but you’re a 5-minute walk from Don Morse Memorial Park. Here, you’ll find a sandy beach, a boat launch, a playground, and even a seasonal 18-hole putting course, making for plenty of family fun. You’re also just a 10-minute walk from Downtown Chelan, giving you a chance to explore some boutique stores, wineries, and restaurants.

12 Tribes Lake Chelan Casino & RV Park

If you like your camping experience with a side of entertainment, 12 Tribes Lake Chelan Casino & RV Park is the perfect place to stay. This is a modern RV park located 500 meters from the lake itself, and it has some excellent amenities, including 30-amp and 50-amp hookups and spaces that can accommodate RVs up to 72-feet long!

You’ll also have access to restrooms with hot showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, picnic tables, and WiFi. There are handicap sites available, too, and since the entire RV park is dog-friendly, you can bring your canine companions along for the trip – there’s even a designated dog area where they can burn off some excess energy and relieve themselves. You can stay here at any time of year as well, but just keep in mind that if it’s been snowing, you may be asked to relocate temporarily to allow staff to clear the area.

One of the best things about camping here, aside from the excellent amenities, is the fact you’ve got a casino right on your doorstep! It isn’t just slot machines and tabletop games, though – you’ll also find live entertainment most evenings and some great dining options, including a full-service restaurant and sports bar. After you’ve had your fill of fun at the casino, a 25-minute walk will take you to the Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards, where you can enjoy a tour and wine tasting. Or, for something a little more outdoorsy, a 30-minute drive takes you to the Echo Ridge Recreation Area, where you’ll find several hiking trails of various difficulty.

Lake Chelan State Park RV Park & Campground

Heading over to the opposite side of Lake Chelan now, Lake Chelan State Park RV Park & Campground is 380 meters from the shore and is ideally located for some awesome outdoor activities. But before we get into those, let’s look at what the park itself has to offer.

There are 144 standard and full-hookup RV sites here, all of which are spread along 6,000 feet of the shoreline, giving you easy access to the lake straight from your RV. There are also restrooms with showers, fire rings, and 52 picnic tables scattered throughout the campground, giving you plenty of opportunities to enjoy a meal with unbeatable lakeside views. Dogs are welcome here, too, but they must be kept on a leash at all times.

However, it’s important to note that only sites 8 – 17 are open for year round reservations – all other sites are only available on a first-come-first served basis. Don’t let this put you off, though. In fact, this makes it a good option if you’ve arrived in the area without a reservation and are looking for a place to stay.

Now, let’s look at those opportunities for outdoor adventure! First of all, you’re so close to Lake Chelan that fishing or boating is an absolute must. There are also some excellent land-based activities on offer, including the Little Bear Trail, which is less than a 10-minute walk from the campground and leads you to amazing views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Or, for something a little further afield, a 22-mile drive takes you to Stormy Mountain, where you’ll find a 1.5-mile hiking trail and views of Lake Chelan from an entirely different perspective.

Four Lakes RV Park

Just 15 minutes from Downtown Chelan, Four Lakes RV Park is a good choice if you want to be close to the water but still have the convenience of not being too far from shops and restaurants. You’ll find spacious sites here with full hookups, some of which can accommodate RVs up to 50 feet in length. There are also 4 sites with a 12×12 foot ten area, which is ideal if you’re traveling with kids who have been itching to break free from the RV and spend the night under canvas.

In terms of other amenities, you’ll have access to picnic tables and a clubhouse, where you can swap stories of your adventures with fellow campers. There are also restrooms with clean showers, and an additional modern restroom block with laundry facilities is due to be completed by late summer 2025. This RV park is open all year round, too, making it a good choice if you’re looking for a place to stay outside of the busier seasons.

Along with close access to Lake Chelan, you’ll find yourself in a good position to explore some other small lakes in the area, including Wapato Lake and Roses Lake, both of which are less than 5 minutes away and are excellent spots for kayaking and fishing. There are some excellent hiking trails nearby, too, such as the Chelan Butte Trail, which is a 20-minute drive from the RV park and leads you through some of the most incredible views of the lake and valley below. And, after a day of exploring, there’s no better place to unwind than Tsillian Cellars & Sorrento’s Ristorante, just 20 minutes from camp.

Summerhill Farm RV Park

If you’ve ever wanted to set up camp on a working farm, Summerhill Farm RV Park is the place to go! A little further inland from Lake Chelan, this RV park has a rural, peaceful setting, and as there are only 16 sites here, you’re offered a quieter atmosphere compared to some of the other larger RV parks in the area. This smaller size doesn’t mean it lacks anything in terms of amenities, though, and you’ll find some excellent facilities available.

These include full hookups in sites that can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet in length, restrooms with showers, and trash facilities. The RV park also hosts several special events throughout the year, such as a “Bouquet Bar”, where you can choose from a variety of fresh-cut flowers to build your own bunch. And, since you’re on a working farm, you’ve got an opportunity to visit the small farm shop and pick up some fresh eggs or homemade jams.

If you’re able to drag yourself away from this idyllic location, you’ll find yourself just minutes away from some of Chelan’s best attractions. Obviously, Lake Chelan itself is a must-visit and is 2km from the campsite, but you’ll also find more water-based fun at Slidewaters Water Park. This family favorite is only 10 minutes away and is home to several waterslides, a lazy river, and a wave pool, all of which are the perfect way to enjoy a hot summer day. Or, for something a little more adult, take the 20-minute drive to Benson Vineyards Estate Winery for a cellar tour followed by a wine tasting accompanied by live music and some beautiful views across Lake Chelan.

Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park

Moving back closer to the shore of Lake Chelan now, Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park is perfectly positioned for anyone who wants to make the most of the outdoor adventures on offer in this part of the U.S.A. You’re less than 100 meters from the lake here, and since you’re within a state park, you’ll also get that sense of remoteness you’ve been longing for.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this means there aren’t some great amenities on offer, though. In fact, Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park has a range of facilities that make for a very comfortable stay, including restrooms with showers, WiFi, fire pits with grills, drinking water, trash cans, and a volleyball court. The only thing to keep in mind is that the RV park here operates seasonally and is closed between November 1st and April 1st, so if you’re looking for a place to camp within these months, it’s best to choose one of the year-round RV parks in the area.

Since you’re so close to the water, fishing and boating are just a couple of the activities you can enjoy here. But, you’re also in a great position to explore some of the more remote parts of Lake Chelan, with the Stehekin Ferry Port just 5 minutes away and giving you access to areas like Prince Creek, Holden, and, of course, Stehekin. Or, if you prefer to stay on dry land, a 10-minute drive will take you to the Pot Peak Trail, where you can head out on a challenging 8.9-mile hike with amazing views of Lake Chelan along the way.

Beebe Bridge Park

If you’ve not been able to find a space along Lake Chelan, there is an excellent alternative in Beebe Bridge Park. Here, you’re just 10 minutes from Downtown Chelan and the southernmost point of Lake Chelan, and you’re right next to the Columbia River. Talk about getting the best of both worlds!

The sites here can be reserved in advance online, and there are 46 sites with electricity and water hookups, some of which can accommodate RVs up to 90 feet in length. You’ll also have access to some fantastic amenities here, including restrooms, hot showers, picnic shelters, a playground, and tennis courts. However, you do need to note that seasonal operation is in place, and the park shuts between October 15th and April 15th. Also, reservations for certain times of the year open at different times, so keep an eye out for those opening dates.

Once you’re settled in, your close proximity to both the Columbia River and Lake Chelan means you’ve got plenty of opportunities to spend an afternoon fishing, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding. And, when you’re done enjoying the water, you can head out on some awesome hiking trails, like the Riverwalk Loop Trail, which starts 10 minutes away at Chelan Riverwalk Park and takes you around a 1.4km paved circuit over Lake Chelan and back again. Also, if you’ve got your golfing gear in tow, take the 20-minute drive to Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course for a day on the green surrounded by incredible lake and mountain views.
