If you value flexibility and outdoor adventure, a campervan or RV rental might be the way to go. However, if you prefer the convenience of hotels and urban exploration, a rental car with hotel accommodations might be more suitable.
In our opinion the campervan is the clear winner over rvs or car rentals with accommodation. RVs can be quite expensive once you added all the costs – mileage charges, petrol costs, bedding / cooking gear and often more expensive camp ground costs…as such a campervan is the much more economical way to explore the US!
