Huntington Beach RV Camping Spots

That’s the full lineup, but what does each have to offer? Let’s take a closer look and find an awesome RV park in Huntington Beach that perfectly suits your needs.

Huntington Beach RV Campground

Huntington Beach Pier

Conveniently located right by the iconic Huntington Beach Pier, Huntington Beach Campground is an ideal place to pull up if you want to be less than five minutes from the beach. All spaces here have 30-amp and 50-amp hookups, and you’ll also have access to public restrooms between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. While it may not have standout amenities like a swimming pool or clubhouse, the ocean views and incredible sunsets on offer here more than make up for it. Also, beach fire pits are available to rent from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., giving you the opportunity to create a truly memorable experience right on the sand.

The Huntington Beach Pier is the main attraction here, but there are also plenty of surf shops, cafes, and restaurants to explore on Main Street, which is just an 11-minute walk from the RV park. If you’re visiting on a Tuesday, you’ll also be able to enjoy Surf City Nights, which is a lively, year-round street fair with local vendors, food trucks, and live music.

Looking for something a little more adventurous? You can rent a bike from a local company and take the 20-minute beach trail up to Bolsa Chica State Beach. This is also a great way of taking in even more ocean views and snapping some Instagram-worthy photos.

Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

Bolsa Chica State Beach

Another great option if you want to be close to the beach, Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground is just 10 minutes from Huntington Beach and offers oceanfront camping with incredible sunset views. The sites here have full electric and water hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length. You’ll also have access to a dump station, restrooms, outdoor showers, and picnic tables, so it’s got everything you need for a comfortable stay. However, it’s important to note that tent camping is not allowed here, and while it is dog-friendly, you must keep your furry travel buddy on a leash at all times.

When it comes to finding things to do in the area, you won’t want to miss out on exploring the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, which is less than five minutes from the campground. This is a peaceful spot where you can walk along trails, spot wildlife, and take some great photos. Or, if you’re more drawn to the beach, you’re in the perfect spot to spend your days surfing, bodyboarding, or simply relaxing with a good book on the sand.

Also, if you’re up for a short drive, Sunset Beach is just five minutes away and tends to be quieter, which is ideal if you’re looking to escape the crowds. And, since you’re only 10 minutes from Main Street, there are plenty of opportunities to do some shopping or treat yourself to a delicious meal.

Waterfront RV Park

Huntington Beach

Looking for an RV park with a few more amenities on offer? Waterfront RV Park is a great option. It’s just 5 minutes from Huntington Beach and offers RV sites with full hookups, as well as showers, laundry facilities, a swimming pool, cable TV, WiFi, a whirlpool spa, a games room, and a clubhouse. There’s even an on-site dog park where your four-legged friends can sniff and explore.

It’s not just the amenities on offer that make this a fantastic place to stay, though. Its location also means you’re just minutes away from the beach, where you can swim, surf, or catch some rays on the sand. Pacific City is also less than 5 minutes away where you can enjoy an upscale shopping and dining experience with amazing ocean views.

Or, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, a 20-minute drive will take you to Newport Beach, where you can hop on a boat tour to spot dolphins or whales and the famous Balboa Island.

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina

Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

If you prefer to camp in luxury, Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina is the place to go. This RV resort is 20 minutes from Huntington Beach and offers some of the best amenities you’ll find in the RV parks in the area, including spacious sites with full hookups, restrooms with hot showers, and a 24-hour laundromat. The luxuriousness kicks in with the other facilities you’ll find here, including a private lagoon that is transformed into a water park every summer, a restaurant, a pirate’s playground, and a fitness center. So, if you don’t feel like having a day on-site, you’ll still have plenty to keep yourself and your family entertained!

Assuming you can drag yourself away from these fantastic amenities, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. You can spend your day kayaking or paddleboarding around the bay, or if you prefer to stay on land, hiking trails like the Newport Dunes Loop start just 4 minutes from the resort and offer a different viewpoint across the waters.

It’s also worth taking the time to explore the Balboa Peninsula while you’re here or spend an afternoon browsing the shops at Fashion Island, both of which are less than 10 minutes away. Or, if you’re craving a “wilder” experience, the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve is only 10 minutes away and has some amazing scenery and the chance to spot some local flora and fauna.

Orangeland RV Park

Foothills of Irvine Regional Park in Orange County

Set a little further inland, Orangeland RV Park is around 30 minutes from Huntington Beach and, as its name suggests, has the unique feature of being packed with orange trees. Imagine waking up, picking fresh oranges, and making your own fresh OJ every morning. It’s all possible here. Of course, it’s not just about the oranges, and you’ll also find 195 paved sites with full hookups, restrooms with showers, a heated swimming pool and spa, free WiFi, and dog walking areas. There are even games courts, picnic areas, and a convenience store, adding to the “a-peel” of camping here!

Another great thing about Orangeland is that you’re less than 15 minutes away from Disneyland, so you can easily spend the day at the happiest place on Earth before returning to a comfortable camping spot. Don’t worry if theme parks aren’t your thing, though, as Old Towne Orange is only 10 minutes away and is an area filled with antique shops and cool little cafes.

If you’re keen on doing something a little more outdoorsy, Irvine Regional Park is 20 minutes away and has loads of awesome hiking trails, picnic spots, and even the OC Zoo, making it ideal for family days out.

Anaheim Harbor RV Park

Los Angeles aerial with angel stadium

Another excellent option if your RV camping trip includes a trip to Disneyland, Anaheim RV Park is 30 minutes from Huntington Beach and just 5 minutes from the theme park. In fact, it’s the closest RV park to Disneyland, so it’s ideal if you want to be close to the magic but don’t want to stay on-site. In terms of facilities, you’ll find sites with full hookups that can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, along with restrooms, showers, a laundry room, a heated swimming pool, mini golf, and a host of other family-friendly amenities.

It’s not just close access to Disneyland on offer here, though. You’re also just 5 minutes from the Anaheim Packing District, a must-visit destination for foodies, as it’s packed with interesting eateries and live entertainment. Angel Stadium and the Honda Center are both only 10 minutes away from the RV park, too, which is ideal if you’d like to attend a baseball or hockey game.

There are some less-urban things to enjoy in this area of Huntington Beach, too. If you’re a nature lover, be sure to head over to Yorba Regional Park, which is 20 minutes away and has some beautiful hiking trails, including the 7.1km Santa Anna River Trail.

Golden Shore RV Resort

Aerial view of RMS Queen Mary ocean liner, Long Beach

A little further from Huntington Beach, Golden Shore RV Resort is 35 minutes north and is one of the best options for family vacations. There are full 30-amp and 50-amp hookups on offer here, as well as free WiFi, restrooms with hot showers, a heated pool and spa, picnic areas, designated horseshoe and shuffleboard courts, and a dog park. There’s also an ampitheater style fire pit, so you can easily connect with fellow travelers and swap stories or must-visit attractions.

On that subject, there’s plenty to do in the area. You’re just a 5 minute drive from Shoreline Village, where you can explore some interesting shops and restaurants. Or, for an exciting family day out, the Aquarium of the Pacific is a 20-minute walk from the RV park and gives you the opportunity to marvel at marine life from all over the world. History lovers, on the other hand, should head straight to The Queen Mary, which is 5 minutes away and is a historic ship turned museum and hotel.

If, after these attractions, you’re craving some nature, a 20-minute drive will take you to the El Dorado Nature Center, where you’ll find peaceful walking trails that wind through wetlands and forests, offering wildlife-spotting and photography opportunities along the way.

Dockweiler State Beach RV Park

Venice Beach Skatepark

If camping right along the sand (without having to actually park on it) is your idea of heaven, Dockweiler State Beach RV Park is the place to be. This beachfront campground is around an hour from Huntington Beach and has unparalleled access to the ocean, with paved RV sites just steps from the waves. Each site also includes hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, and the amenities here include hot showers, picnic tables, a laundromat, and BBQ facilities. So, while it may not have a swimming pool or fitness center like some other upscale resorts, you simply can’t beat the ocean views.

It’s no surprise that the biggest draw here is the beach itself, with plenty of opportunities for swimming, surfing, and sunbathing. But, if you feel like a change of scene, the Marvin Braude Bike Trail (also known as The Strand) starts 10 minutes from the RV park and stretches for over 20 miles along the coast, with incredible views along the way.

A 20-minute drive will also take you to Marina Del Rey, which is a hub for watersports enthusiasts looking to spend an afternoon paddleboarding, kayaking, or sailing. The famous Venice Beach is only 25 minutes away, too, where you can watch street performers and explore some quirky little shops.
